The Play Your Part Small Business Academy provides top-notch, hands-on business training to assist young people in realising their entrepreneurial goals.
The Play Your Part initiative from Brand SA, which is a national campaign to promote active citizenship, has grown to include the academy.
The academy, in partnership with the Start Up Tribe, which helps small businesses grow in a sustainable manner, seeks to provide thousands of people with the fundamental knowledge required to realise their entrepreneurial dreams.
Its classes are tailored for people from different backgrounds and it offers advice for both students and small businesses.
Initiatives like the Play Your Part Small Business Academy are beacons of hope for the nation’s youngsters as they have the highest unemployment rate in the country.
“SA also has a skills gap in a number of industries. The academy’s selection of free, quick courses on business development tries to address this,” the academy’s CEO, Sithembile Ntombela.
He said young, successful entrepreneurs had approved and supported the Play Your Part Small Business Academy on many social media channels.
It also received a Certificate of SME Support Excellence from international organisation, World Class Cities, in recognition of its dedication to assisting small- and medium-sized businesses.
“A large number of young people are enrolling in and asking questions about the academy’s courses. They’ve made suggestions about increasing their selection to make room for new academic faculties,” Ntombela said.
“We are aware of the challenging times, particularly in the wake of Covid-19. We want to help whether you’re struggling to find a job, start your business, find
a new business, or provide for your family.
“Together, with The StartUp Tribe, we’re bringing a collection of world-class practical business courses to support entrepreneurs as they launch or expand their businesses.”
He said the added bonus was that every course was free.
